The Dos and Don’ts of Skin Care

It’s great to have gorgeous skin – without any blemishes or permanent damage from make-up, pollution or just using the wrong skin products.

Using the wrong products and not taking precautions when going out in the sun are just some of the factors that can cause everlasting damage to your skin.

Here are 5 simple tips that should put you on the right path for looking after your skin:

  1. Don’t go to bed with your make up on. It will damage your skin and cause irritation.
  2. If you are using a cleanser, ensure that you are using the right cleanser for your skin type. If you use the wrong type, it can lead to the skin becoming dehydrated or irritation.
  3. If you are using an exfoliant, be certain to use it gently. If it is rubbed harshly into the skin, it can damage it.
  4. When applying a facial wash, use water to moisten the face as it will allow easy application and ensure that the facial wash is doing its job.
  5. When drying the face, use a towel to pat dry the skin. Never use a towel to rub dry as this will cause damage to the skin.

What Daily Cleansing Regime Do You Have?

What daily cleansing regime do you have? Why is it so important to have one?
Well, it removes impurities and make up with the result of a fresher looking complexion and hopefully no blemishes if it is done on a regular basis.
There are so many different products out there and you must always try to use products which are suitable for your skin. If you don't this can cause more harm than good.
There are many different cleansing regimes but here is a simple one that I recommend:
1. Cleanse
This part of the regime will remove impurities such as dirt, oil and bacteria. If they are not removed from the skin it will cause breakouts as a result of pores becoming blocked. Cleansing is also fantastic for stimulating the blood circulation in your face, leaving you with a fresh glowing appearance. Cleansing simply involves lathering the cleanser into your hands and applying it to the skin and neck in an upward circular motion for a few minutes. Rinse the face with water and pat dry. Never rub the face with towel as this can cause damage to the skin

2. Tone
It is really important to tone the skin as it prepares it for moisturising and it balances the skin’s pH. Try not to use alcohol on your skin as this can be too harsh and have a dehydrating effect on your face which makes it look dull. Some toners are applied simply by using a cotton ball to the face and neck. The face is then left to dry.

3. Moisturize
Moisturizing hydrates the skin and gives it a soft and silky feel. Be careful to pick the right product for your skin type and ensure that it provides protection from the sun. When applied, rub from the neck to the face in an upward motion.
