9 Top Tips for Caring for Your Hair During the Winter Months

The weather can be quite brutal to your hair during the winter months. It’s so crucial that you look after your hair as the cold weather can dry it out and cause it to become brittle.

To avoid this and encourage healthy looking hair, here are my top tips for caring for your hair in Winter.

  1. Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner will moisturize in the winter month.
  2. Hair mask – this can lock in the moisture. You can leave these in overnight to get the maximum benefits.
  3. Argan Oil intensively moisturizes the hair. It softens it and makes it manageable.
  4. Heat appliances can lead to moisture loss. If you need to use them, you must use a good quality heat protection spray to seal in the moisture.
  5. Avoid shampoos and conditioners which contain sulfates. Sulfates cause the products to foam and clean the hair but they can have a drying effect which leads to loss of moisture. Sulfates have been said to cause skin irritation and this is apparent with a flaky scalp. If your hair is coloured, sulfates can leave the hair looking dull. Therefore, use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner which will help coloured hair last longer during the winter.
  6. Massaging the scalp will help exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. It will also promote growth and increase blood flow.
  7. Hot all treatments are fab for all types of hair and are fantastic for moisturizing the hair.
  8. Hair supplements are great for enhancing the appearance of the hair as well making it stronger and healthy. Therefore, look out for hair supplements which contain Vitamins C, E and A.
  9. Wearing a hat when out will protect the hair from all the harmful winter elements.

Would you like to have healthy, nourished and beautiful looking hair? Well, I know the secret on how you can achieve this and I’m going to share that secret. It’s called Aluminé. This fantastic range of products has been created by the world renowned stylist, Peter Lamas, who was the main beauty expert on the film, The Titanic. He has dealt with a lot of the world’s celebrities such as Jacqueline Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Samuel L Jackson; the list goes on.

Because of his experience of working with the stars, he has seen how the elements can be quite damaging to the hair. So he has developed a range of products which are natural, chemical and paraben free and do not contain sulfates. They nourish, moisturize and protect the hair and there is a shampoo and conditioner for all types of hair.

My favourite is the Argan and Macadamia because it great for hair that is usually frizzy, coarse and dries out easily. I personally found it moisturized my hair, softened it and made it more manageable. I trust these products so much that I have used them on my children with excellent results.
