There was a time when every bar of soap I made came from my kitchen.
The counters were covered in oils, moulds, labels, and notes scribbled on scraps of paper. My kitchen didn’t look like a kitchen anymore most days, but I didn’t care. I had a dream sitting right there between the dishes and the chaos.
And honestly? That’s where so many small businesses begin.
Not in a fancy studio.
Not with perfect branding.
Not with thousands of followers.
They begin with someone willing to start messy.
For me, it started with handmade soaps and body butters, long nights, trial and error, and learning everything as I went. I wasn’t trying to build something perfect. I was trying to build something real.
Over time, I realised I had outgrown my kitchen.
Not just physically, but mentally too.
I needed space to grow. Space to create safely, consistently, and professionally. So I took the leap and built my own workshop. And let me tell you, that decision changed everything.
The photos from my very first workshop launch still mean so much to me. Tables filled with my first products. Local mums walking through the doors. Conversations. Support. Community. Proof that this little idea I started at home was becoming something bigger than I imagined.

That moment reminded me of something important:
Consistency matters more than perfection.
People connect with heart.
They connect with passion.
They connect with the story behind the brand.
Your beginning does not have to look polished to be powerful.
So if you’re reading this while building your dream from your kitchen table, your spare bedroom, or a tiny corner of your home, please hear me when I say this:
Keep going.
The late nights matter.
The small wins matter.
The messy middle matters.
You do not need permission to start before you feel “ready.”
One day, you’ll look back at those early photos and realize they were never small beginnings. They were the foundation of something beautiful.
And trust me, you’ll be proud you didn’t quit.
