Do you burn the midnight oil on a regular basis? Do you party a lot? Whatever the reason, this can result in dark circles around your eyes.

As you get older, your skin loses its elasticity and becomes thinner which leaves dark circles with a more prominent appearance.

There are a number of cosmetics on the market which can help with the problem, however, if you want to deal with it in a natural way, here are 5 ways to tackle dark circles: -

  1. Cucumber Slices – After refrigerating a cucumber, cut it into slices about half an inch thick. Lay back and put your head back. Put a slice on each eye and leave them there for approximately 15 minutes.

  1. Green Tea Bags – Pour hot water on 2 tea bags. Steep the bags for 5 minutes and then put them in the freezer. when they are very cold, place them onto the eyes for about 15 minutes.

  1. Mint Leaves – Crush some mint leaves together with the juice of half a lemon. When the combination turns into a paste, you can apply it to the area under the eye, leaving it there for 15 minutes. To achieve good results, apply twice a day.

  1. Almond oil – This fantastic natural oil is great to use. It is beneficial to the delicate skin under the eye. Regular use will fade dark circles and when used in addition to Vitamin E oil, will enhance the appearance of the skin under the eyes. Simply, very gently massage the oil into the skin and leave this in overnight. Wash it off the next morning with cold water.

  1. Raw Potato – Potatoes contain a natural bleaching agent which means that it will help with the fading of dark circles. They are also good for getting rid of puffiness around the eye. Get 2 chilled potatoes and extract the juice. Dip cotton wool balls into the juice and place it on the dark circles for 15 minutes. Rinse it off and then moisturize under the eye. You will see a noticeable change after continued use.
