How To Get Beautifully Hydrated Skin

Posted on March 28, 2020 by Melanie Brown

Oh, my goodness. I’m so excited!

It’s not very often that I pamper myself but decided to do so with a new serum.

I have used serums before and they can be quite drying on the skin, but this one was something else. It glided onto the skin and making it feel silky soft. In addition, I noticed how it really hydrated my skin. My face had a healthy glow.

So, what was the magical ingredient that allowed me to have this gorgeous feeling skin.
The answer - Hyaluronic Acid, otherwise commonly known as HA.

HA is a carbohydrate molecule which is naturally formed in the body. It provides lubrication to connective joints and is fabulous for overall skin health. Nowadays, it is seen as an essential ingredient in numerous beauty products.

This is what HA can do for your skin: -

1. Leaves your skin feeling hydrated and gives it long lasting moisture.

2. Boosts the skin health so stops the skin drying out.

3. Fantastic for anti-aging. As you get older, the skin losses it’s suppleness.
HA plumps up the skin and smooths out the fine lines and wrinkles.

4. Firms and tones.

5. Fights free radicals and damage caused by UV damage and the environment which would break down the collagen in your skin leaving it with fine lines and wrinkles. This is an amazing antioxidant.

HA is most definitely, my new best friend!

The Illuminating Aluminé!

Posted on August 27, 2015 by Melanie Brown

You’ve probably seen me blogging about Aluminé hair and skin products.

These products have been created by Peter Lamas, a world renowned beauty expert. Lamas worked with the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy, Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, Cindy Crawford and many more.

He was trained by the best and he has used his expert knowledge to create the best beauty products in the world.

The Aluminé brand is natural, chemical and paraben free and is suitable for vegans.

The products are becoming so popular that if you google them, you will see that celebrities such as Kim Kardashian are using them.

There are a range of Shampoos in the brand and you can find something for any kind of hair. They are protective and strengthen the hair.

I have used the Argan and Macadamia Shampoo in the range and was astonished to see how it made my hair soft and manageable. I used it on my children and was over the moon to find how it made life so much easier to wash their hair without the tears and the tantrums.

Lamas has also created a day and night skin care system which both hydrates and nourishes the skin.

I have to say that I have been pretty impressed with the results. They are worth every penny and I spent many of those over the years buying products which are harsh and damaging to the skin
.
There is something for everyone to use and as Lamas has said, skin has no gender, so it can be used by both men and women.

If you would like to find out more about these first class products, please contact me at www.melslittleluxuries.co.uk or email me at melslittleluxuries@btopenworld.

Carrots – Superfood For The Skin

Posted on August 26, 2015 by Melanie Brown

I’ve always been told that carrots are great for your eyesight. You’ve heard that too, right?

Well did you know that it is also a superfood for your skin?

Here is why carrots are good for you:-

  • They have high levels of beta-carotene which gives carrots their bright orange colour. This helps with skin repair and regeneration which gives skin a healthier and young looking appearance.
  • Carrots are great for anti-aging and can help with skin conditions such as acne.
  • It is a great source of dietary fibre which means that it helps you to have healthy bowel functions
  • If you are lacking in this important nutrient, it can leave your skin looking dry and dull.

So, why not enjoy carrots in a salad or with a dip to ensure that you get the benefits from this nutritious vegetable.

Why is protein so important?

Posted on August 20, 2015 by Melanie Brown

Have you ever considered why protein is so important in our daily diet?

Collagen is the tissue which holds the skin and other cells in the body together. This is made up of protein.

Collagen is one of the most important proteins in the body and gives the skin tone.

If you don’t have enough protein in your diet, your skin will start to sag and this leads to wrinkles.

Having protein in our diet means that there is a constant supply to deal with skin repair and renewal.

So what are the signs that you are not getting enough protein in your diet?

  • Puffy bags under the eye
  • Sagging skin
  • Water retention
  • Weak hair and nails

What are good sources of protein?

  • Grass fed meat
  • Organic chicken
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Nuts
  • Dairy products

So if you want gorgeous looking skin, be sure to have a good protein content in your diet.

The Dos and Don’ts of Skin Care

Posted on June 19, 2015 by Melanie Brown

It’s great to have gorgeous skin – without any blemishes or permanent damage from make-up, pollution or just using the wrong skin products.

Using the wrong products and not taking precautions when going out in the sun are just some of the factors that can cause everlasting damage to your skin.

Here are 5 simple tips that should put you on the right path for looking after your skin:

  1. Don’t go to bed with your make up on. It will damage your skin and cause irritation.
  2. If you are using a cleanser, ensure that you are using the right cleanser for your skin type. If you use the wrong type, it can lead to the skin becoming dehydrated or irritation.
  3. If you are using an exfoliant, be certain to use it gently. If it is rubbed harshly into the skin, it can damage it.
  4. When applying a facial wash, use water to moisten the face as it will allow easy application and ensure that the facial wash is doing its job.
  5. When drying the face, use a towel to pat dry the skin. Never use a towel to rub dry as this will cause damage to the skin.

Do you worry about finding the right cleansing regime to promote healthy glowing skin? Aluminé is the answer! PM me through this page or go to the following link to look at the personal care Aluminé range. It will certainly change your skin for the better!

Do You Need to Use Eye Serum?

Posted on May 07, 2015 by Melanie Brown

Have you noticed just how many eye serum products there are on the skin care/beauty market? Why do we need them?It apparently addresses a number of problems:-

  1. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and crow’s feet
  2. The skin around the eyes is 80% thinner than the skin around the rest of the body and so it protects the skin by restoring its elasticity
  3. Allays the damage caused by pollution
  4. It helps with issues of tired and dark puffy eyes
  5. Enhances the firmness and tone of the skin
  6. Promotes a healthier and younger appearance

A good eye serum is therefore your best friend.

I personally use the Aluminé® Overnight Age-Defying Eye Serum which firms and lifts. This has been created by the world renowned beauty expert, Peter Lamas. He has helped many famous people, such as Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor and Cyndi Crawford, with their beauty regimes.   Why is this serum great?

  1. It is suitable for all skins
  2. It can be used by vegans and vegetarians
  3. The ingredients are 100% natural
  4. It firms and tones the tissue around the eye therefore reducing puffiness and fine lines

Eye serum is simple to apply. You just take your ring finger to treat the eye as it is more delicate than your index finger. Start at the inner corner of each eye and press the serum along the eye socket with a little pressure. This will stimulate the area. Continue in the direction of the temple. If the skin quickly absorbs the serum repeat the action again to assure that the eye area is hydrated. Repeat the same step with the second eye.

Include an eye serum to your skin care regime and you will hopefully see a positive change.
