5 Great Tips on Why You Should Use Argan Oil!

Posted on January 31, 2016 by Melanie Brown

Have you noticed everywhere you go, Argan oil can be seen on the shelves? It’s not just beauty shops but even the bargain shops. Everyone is raving about it.

If you’ve read some of my earlier posts, you will have seen that one of my favourite hair products is the – Aluminé Argan and Macadamia Shampoo and Conditioner.

Argan oil is a plant oil which is derived from the kernels of the Argan tree in Morocco. Moroccans traditionally use it with their bread for breakfast or drizzled on couscous or pasta. They also use unroasted Argan oil to treat skin diseases, and as a cosmetic oil for skin and hair.

The question everyone is asking is, “Why is it so popular?”

It contains Tocopherol which is Vitamin E. Vitamin E is great for protecting and repairing the skin. It is an excellent moisturizing oil with anti-oxidizing benefits. Here are 5 tips as to how you can use Argan oil and benefit from it:-

1. Hair – Argan oil is great for calming frizzy ends. It adds moisture to dry hair as well as shine.

2. Scalp- if you have dry scalp, you can dab your scalp with the oil. A good tip is to apply it just before bedtime and leave it in overnight. Simply wash it out the following morning.

3. Face- you can apply the oil directly to your face. Because of its qualities, it leaves your face looking smooth, clear and radiant.

4. Body – simply apply this to the body as you would a body lotion. For soft and silky results, apply straight after a hot bath or shower.

5. Hands- Argan oil is fantastic on the hands. You can use it on cuticles or nails.

The great thing about Argan Oil is the positive social and environmental impact it has created. Because the production of Argan oil has taken off in a big way, it has resulted in Argan trees being preserved as a valuable resource. In relation to the social impact, Moroccan women-cooperatives have been set up for the labour-intensive production of the oil. This means that women now have a regular source of income to sustain themselves and their families.

Why not try this oil and comment on this page about your experience using it.

Well, the Christmas Season is almost finished. For this crazy period, we happily over indulge in eating and drinking and then later regret it when we can’t fit into our clothes.  Unfortunately for some of us, we end up with breakouts which we cannot seem to get rid of.

So it seems that it is time to find a natural cure to get rid of unsightly blemishes and help give your skin a healthy glow.

We are surrounded by natural products which when juiced, can help us to achieve this goal. Here are 8 fantastic juices which will put you on the path to getting great looking skin: -

Green Peas Juice – Now you might find this a little unusual as a choice but great things have been said about this vegetable as a juice. This vegetable is used in many vegetarian dishes. Green peas are rich sources of Vitamins B6 and K. The presence of folic acid in it makes it a staple food for our body. The juice prepared from green peas is very nutritious. Due to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it is really effective in making the skin radiant and glowing.

It's True: You really can restore colour, strengthen and repair dry and brittle hair And Here's How...

Posted on December 29, 2015 by Melanie Brown

Do you colour or highlight your hair?

Have you chemically treated your hair?

Do you apply heat to your hair when styling it?

As a result of this treatment, has your hair become dry and brittle?

Well, there is a way to repair this damage. Shall I reveal the secret?

It’s Aluminé’s Soy and Baobab Oil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner!

With today’s fashion and trends, it is not uncommon for hair to be coloured or highlighted. In addition, we blow-dry, tong and use all sorts of heat appliances to style our hair.  I bet you are doing this now as we are in the festive season.

Unfortunately, this can have an adverse effect.

Our hair dries out and can become brittle as the various processes deprive the hair of moisture. It loses its elasticity which results in hair breakage.

What you have to do to solve the problem is put back in the moisture and strengthen the hair and Aluminé helps you to do just that.

The Soy and Baobab Oil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner nourishes and protects your hair. They are both natural, chemical free, paraben free and sulfate free.

The ingredients are a combination of organic botanicals and vitamins which help to restore the colour to your hair along with strengthening it and restoring hydration.

You’re probably asking, “What’s so special about Aluminé?”

Well, this range of products has been created by the world renowned beauty and hair expert, Peter Lamas. For decades, he has helped celebrities to be at their very best and through his experience, has seen how the prolonged use of chemicals and heat can cause damage to the hair. He therefore created a range of products which are natural and chemical free and do not cause any harm. They produce beautiful results and can be used by anyone. They are suitable for vegans.

Most importantly, they work and have received great reviews.

So, the question is do you want to repair the damage to your hair and have healthy vibrant looking hair?

If the answer is yes, please PM me at my Facebook page, melslittleluxuries or email me at  and I will be happy to discuss with you how you can get the beautiful hair you want.

9 Top Tips for Caring for Your Hair During the Winter Months

Posted on December 09, 2015 by Melanie Brown

The weather can be quite brutal to your hair during the winter months. It’s so crucial that you look after your hair as the cold weather can dry it out and cause it to become brittle.

To avoid this and encourage healthy looking hair, here are my top tips for caring for your hair in Winter.

  1. Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner will moisturize in the winter month.
  2. Hair mask – this can lock in the moisture. You can leave these in overnight to get the maximum benefits.
  3. Argan Oil intensively moisturizes the hair. It softens it and makes it manageable.
  4. Heat appliances can lead to moisture loss. If you need to use them, you must use a good quality heat protection spray to seal in the moisture.
  5. Avoid shampoos and conditioners which contain sulfates. Sulfates cause the products to foam and clean the hair but they can have a drying effect which leads to loss of moisture. Sulfates have been said to cause skin irritation and this is apparent with a flaky scalp. If your hair is coloured, sulfates can leave the hair looking dull. Therefore, use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner which will help coloured hair last longer during the winter.
  6. Massaging the scalp will help exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. It will also promote growth and increase blood flow.
  7. Hot all treatments are fab for all types of hair and are fantastic for moisturizing the hair.
  8. Hair supplements are great for enhancing the appearance of the hair as well making it stronger and healthy. Therefore, look out for hair supplements which contain Vitamins C, E and A.
  9. Wearing a hat when out will protect the hair from all the harmful winter elements.

Would you like to have healthy, nourished and beautiful looking hair? Well, I know the secret on how you can achieve this and I’m going to share that secret. It’s called Aluminé. This fantastic range of products has been created by the world renowned stylist, Peter Lamas, who was the main beauty expert on the film, The Titanic. He has dealt with a lot of the world’s celebrities such as Jacqueline Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Samuel L Jackson; the list goes on.

Because of his experience of working with the stars, he has seen how the elements can be quite damaging to the hair. So he has developed a range of products which are natural, chemical and paraben free and do not contain sulfates. They nourish, moisturize and protect the hair and there is a shampoo and conditioner for all types of hair.

My favourite is the Argan and Macadamia because it great for hair that is usually frizzy, coarse and dries out easily. I personally found it moisturized my hair, softened it and made it more manageable. I trust these products so much that I have used them on my children with excellent results.

It's True: You Really Can Get rid of dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes And Here's How...

Posted on November 04, 2015 by Melanie Brown

Recently I’d fallen into the trap of going to bed really late. There were never enough hours in the day and I felt the need to stay up to catch up. That had the effect of me catching a few hours’ worth of sleep and before I knew it, it was time to get up again.

What were the consequences of this?

Well, as well as looking and feeling extremely tired, I ended up with dark circles around my eyes. If this continued, I would not be winning my battle to keep the wrinkles and fine lines at bay.

Quite simply put, I needed to get to bed early and I needed to get a decent night’s sleep.

In the meantime, what else could I do to ensure that the skin around my eyes stayed vibrant and youthful?

  • As mentioned go to sleep earlier
  • Hydrate my skin to ensure that it was moisturised and kept the signs of aging away
  • Have a great skincare regime which would help me to get rid of the dark circles

For this, I can strongly recommend The Brightening Emblica Eye Cream from Peter Lamas’ Aluminé range.

Who is Peter Lamas?

He is a world renowned beauty specialist who has dealt with celebrities such as Kate Winslet, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Cindy Crawford, Kim Kardashian and the list goes on.

He has devised a natural skincare range which is natural, paraben and chemical free. There are no sulfates which can cause allergies or irritations. The products have not been tested on animals and they are suitable for vegans.

The Aluminé range can be used by anyone. As Peter Lamas has said, “Skin has no gender” so it can be used by men too!

So back to the point, what does this eye cream do?

It restores firmness and illuminates around the eyes which means that the appearance of the dark circles is reduced. It is a beautiful moisturiser and you can feel how it hydrates and tones the skin. The intensity of the moisturiser means that the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines are reduced.

This gorgeous product is my new best friend. I use it as part of my daily skin regime. I know it works because people have commented on how my skin looks radiant which is pretty impressive when I have been burning the midnight oil.

So, if you want gorgeous looking skin, and want to keep the wrinkles away, contact me through this page by PM or email me at to find out more
